Denver Hospice
Since 2001, The Denver Hospice has partnered with Selian Lutheran Hospice on best practices and approaches to hospice care. The Denver Hospice also provides educational and financial support to Selian’s programs and conducts staff trips to Arusha, Tanzania every two years.
From our dynamic partnership, Selian has transformed from an organization serving less than 100 patients to over 5,000 at its peak in 2016. A majority of Selian patients are HIV+ and many of those also have TB. Selian Hospice provides medications, basic food supplies, and psycho-social support to patients.
Today, Selian Hospice continues to provide quality and compassionate care, made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, despite drastic cuts from USAID funding support in 2016.
Selian Hospice is the cornerstone of palliative care in East Africa and would not exist without generous support from the The Denver Hospice. The partnership between the Denver Hospice and Selian Hospice has raised over $750,000 Selian Lutheran Hospice since 2001.

Engineers without Borders
Engineers Without Borders USA builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs. Our highly skilled volunteers work with communities to find appropriate solutions for their infrastructure needs.
EWB-USA’s Engineering Service Corps program draws on the expertise of our most seasoned volunteers from across engineering disciplines and industry sectors. We respond to requests for engineering project support from governments, international NGOs, United Nations agencies, local communities and other institutions who lack access to the necessary technical resources to address the engineering challenges facing some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.

iDE
iDE is a global effort that spans offices in 14 countries, encompassing 4 social enterprises, employing over 1,000 people directly, and indirectly enabling many more through our market-based approaches in agriculture; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and finance.
Along the way, iDE has learned that the key to market-based solutions to poverty isn’t any specific technology. It’s how that technology—right-sized, resource-smart, and affordable—is implemented in the particular region, market, and client base that determines its success and sustainability. We have developed an entire service suite for ensuring market viability, including partnerships with local providers, knowledge and training in the use and maintenance of technology, and ensuring the availability of necessary inputs. We’ve also identified the need to extend credit to low-income populations so they can afford to adopt technology and other life-changing products.
In order to continue to be a positive force for progress, we at iDE have constantly challenged ourselves to learn from the past and to seek out new technologies and interventions in every place in which we do business.

Into Your Hands – Africa
Our foundational belief is that education and enterprise are intertwined. Program success and sustainability cannot be found without the other. For 19 years Into Your Hands-Africa has been working with students, families and communities in rural midwestern Uganda, supporting community empowerment and economic sustainability through education and enterprise development. We send students to school, create local model leaders and teach practical skills intertwined with sustainable enterprise projects as requested by the communities we serve.
The idea of Into Your Hands Africa first began in 1999 through a relationship with St. Denis Secondary School in Makondo Uganda. The organization’s founding members kicked-off a fundraising project that supported the building an examination hall, thereby making St. Denis a nationally accredited secondary school. In 2007, IYHA became a formalized nonprofit organization and today the organization has reached over 30,000 people across 70 villages. When education and enterprise are combined at the request of local communities, legacy leaders arise and lead from inside their communities.
