ABOUT US

Established in 2000, Africa in the Rockies is a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit project aimed at increasing social awareness and knowledge of Africa by providing information, materials and services to the local and national community.

 As a clearinghouse of Africa-related resources, Africa in the Rockies seeks to enhance the knowledge of children and adults about African politics, culture, and natural resources.

The organization’s services are available to members of the community, schools, libraries, museums, the media, community groups, and business organizations.

Resource Library

The Africa Centre Resource Library houses a substantial collection of Africa –related materials for use by schools and the community. The collection includes resources on African arts, natural history, politics, and culture.

Sevices to schools

Africa in the Rockies  offers materials and assistance to k-12 educators. Topical workshops, presentations, guest speakers and performances are also arranged.

Services to the community

Organizations may borrow material and request assistance, speakers and referrals for their programs.  Individual community members are also welcome to utilize Africa in the Rockies’ resources.
