the planning & organizing committee of the African Leadership Group (ALG) is pleased and honored to invite you as a guest to the 4th Annual Afrik Impact Gala to be held on Saturday August 10th 2019 at Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora.
The purpose of this yearly event is to celebrate our collective accomplishments, recognize our community champions, and cast the vision for our next year of policy and advocacy work. In addition, it is part of our public persuasion campaign to have the State of Colorado issue a proclamation to officially establish August as African Immigrant Month. In all of this, we celebrate loud and proud of the positive impact of African people in Colorado and honor our contributions. The theme for this year’s event is “Empowering the Next Generation for Economic Impact”—showcasing the role African immigrants play in the economy and highlighting the business opportunities that are available in the United States and internationally.
We are excited to announce that our featured speaker will be the Honorable Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Former President of Liberia. Mrs Sirleaf is the first woman to lead the UNDP’s Regional Bureau of Africa and a 2011 Nobel Prize for Peace winner. She is an influential economist for the World Bank, Citibank, and other international financial institutions.
